河鍋暁翠（1867〜1935年）による1895年（明治28年）の日清戦争錦絵「帝国陸軍大勝利平壌之図」。河鍋暁斎の娘であり優れた女流画家でもある暁翠が描いた戦争絵で、女性絵師による戦争錦絵として資料的価値があります。現在は他の部分と離れてしまっていますが、迫力ある「大勝利」の一場面です。

“Teikoku Rikugun Daishōri Heijō no Zu” (Great Imperial Army Victory at Pyongyang, 1895) by Kawanabe Kyōsui (1867–1935). Daughter of the celebrated Kawanabe Kyōsai, Kyōsui was a skilled female artist in her own right. This war print is a notable example of a woman artist contributing to the sensō-e genre. Now separated from its companion sheets, but the central “great victory” scene retains its dramatic power.
