豊原国周（1835〜1900年）による1869年（明治2年）の役者絵「俳優見立十二支 午未」。役者を干支に見立てた連作「俳優見立十二支」から午（うま）・未（ひつじ）の一枚。生で見ると赤の発色が150年以上経った今でも驚くほど鮮やか。

“Haiyū Mitate Juni-shi: Uma / Hitsuji” (Actors in the Guise of the Zodiac: Horse / Goat, 1869) by Toyohara Kunichika (1835–1900). From the series matching actors to the twelve zodiac signs. Remarkably, the vivid red pigments have retained their brilliance after over 150 years — a testament to the quality of Edo-period woodblock printing.
